- Librarians and other educators have essential duties to step up & address the issue any time we believe a child is being harmed. This includes being harmed by AI, and make no mistake, it is harming not only our students, but also our adults, and our society.

- "Reclaiming teacher time with AI". Time for what? In the era of shrinking enrollment, be prepared for other duties as assigned, more students added to rosters, and fewer educational support personnel. Be very careful what you wish for; you just might get it.
- Great example of failing forward and growth mindset.

- Reposted by Len BryanBehold: the first-ever list of news outlets that have banned generative AI in their reporting. As of today, this is literally information that you cannot find on Google. - Oh AI, you suck. I'd bet many people would not take a second look, pause to think critically, or even try to spot problems before passing this off, sharing it, or turning it in as an authentic product of their hard work. AI is making us stupid and lazy.

- I'll eagerly await the full story in January. In the meantime, I'm increasingly alarmed at the uncritical adoption & evangelical stance of those pushing AI & its rapid incorporation into existing ed tech. To be blunt, this is not going to help students be anything but fast, sloppy, & less capable.
