- Here's something I wrote about "unconventional" carbon credits, making the world's first (??) income-based carbon footprint calculator, and trying to determine the avoided emissions benefit of Brian Thompson's homicide. lav.io/notes/carbon...

- Most carbon footprint calculators determine carbon impacts based on consumption and lifestyle. But through the Offset project I got interested in the relationship between income and emissions: is it possible to calculate impacts based solely on income levels? And what would those calculations imply?
- wow the times published a mostly-positive review of my show with @tega.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2025/10/30/a...
- Offset Marketplace is a new project in collaboration with @tega.bsky.social. We calculate the carbon savings of industrial sabotage, package these savings into carbon credits, and sell them as certificates. Profits are then donated back to the activists responsible for the actions. offset.labr.io
- The certificates are 11x11 inch archival quality prints covering a range of direct actions that have occurred in the last few years. Buy one today!
- Come see "How To Get To Zero", my new collaborative exhibit with @tega.bsky.social at @pioneerwork.bsky.social. It's up until Dec 13th. The show includes 10 pieces, covering the last decade of our solo and collective practices.

- It's back! My videobot that creates automated supercuts from C-SPAN videos was killed by Musk, but is alive again on bluesky.
- btw the previous iteration of this bot ran (somewhat) continuously from 2015 to 2023. The old archive can still be seen on twitter at twitter.com/cspanfive or youtube www.youtube.com/@c-spanfive5...

- Made a new project called Coppelganger: it uses facial recognition on an archive of ~10,000 publicly available images of NYPD cops to tell you which cop you most resemble. coppelganger.lav.io Find the cop lurking deep within!
-
View full threadI feel revulsion towards my coppelganger. Wonderful project Sam.

- I wrote a bit about the process here: lav.io/notes/explor... As part of the exploration I was able to cluster cop faces by similarity, find the saddest cops in new york, and more!
- Wrote a piece with Tega Brain in e-flux architecture about data and carbon offset schemes. www.e-flux.com/architecture...
- As part of the research for the piece we scraped details about every carbon offset scheme from the major voluntary offset registries, and stuck them up at: offsetarchive.labr.io

- Join me tomorrow as I attempt to create a facial recognition system capable of identifying NYPD cops. www.screenwalks.com

- The words of the super pissed off commuter (trying to get around the JVP protest at Grand Central) who was screaming “Palestine ruins everything! I want to go to Tarrytown!” will forever be seared in my mind.
- A large loaf of bread lay on the table. Father came in with a knife to cut it in half. But even though the knife was big and sharp, and the bread neither too soft nor too hard, the knife could not cut into it. We children looked up at Father in surprise. He said, “Why should you be surprised?"
