- I can’t believe it’s a week before artfight and I’ve done almost 0 prep, I guess we’re just gonna go into this blind and hope
- So I’m team crystal for artfight and I’m contemplating going back to default oc because lowkey I have an idea that’s gonna cook for theming
- Trying to install The Sims 4 on Linux is a loosing game and I’m still fuming that somehow a SINGLE PLAYER GAME needs background apps ?? Why did we let people get away with this????
- Something I’ve been musing on for a while is trying to make the ‘ultimate’ oc and what I mean by that is like, riding the line of translation and boiling an oc down to core traits that can be translated from various fictional universes

View full threadBut she is like, the perfect base in my opinion, or as close as I’m going to get as most games have a human or humanoid option and from there as long as some sort of purple hair is possible we have the main elements already sorted
- It also works bc it works well with doll makers and other things and I know I do want to keep her as a human or the human equivalent in all universes because I think that allows for cleaner translation
- But what I quickly realised was that the mermaid-ness of Koi in both designs is a key form of her and it’s kinda hard to cleanly translate, although possible and then I got to thinking what the perfect base for a project like this would even be which is when I remembered my cotton doll Odette
- So I really kind of worked backwards with Odette where I got the doll and then tried to (and I’m still kinda in the process of) figuring her out and who she is and stuff and it’s hard
- I wanted to do this with Koi originally because I really liked what I saw on Toyhouse about some of the ocs there with thousands of images and aus and I was like wow,, so cool

- This was such a pleasure to do the art for and I'm floored by Shu's vocals. I was torn when I made this because originally I was thinking "Should I do Ojamajo Doremi style?" But I heard the song and looked at the translated lyrics and come up with something a bit more poetic and I feel it fit better

- Slow progress on my OC Scrapbook project. It's good progress but it's still going to take a week and it's getting way too close to artfight. I may have switch gears just to get the streaming ready and get assets ready for artfight.
- That's not even mentioning the fact that I'm going to have to remake reference sheets and adjust attack thumbnails.... oh god this is gonna take everything and I hope I don't crash before artfight itself
