He was arrested in France with his family during the Vel d'Hiv roundup and interned in Drancy then deported to Auschwitz on the 31 Jul 1942. His sister (5) was deported alone. - Reposted by Gary H4 February 1925 | A French Jewish woman, Ginette Kolinka (née Cherkasky), was born in Paris. She was deported to #Auschwitz from Drancy in April 1944. She was transferred to Bergen-Belsen and then to #Theresienstadt. She survived. Today she turns 101.

She was interned in Drancy with her husband from where, on the 30 May 1944, they were deported to Auschwitz where they perished. One child perished in the Shoah & one survived.
