- (3/3) Five trust profiles emerge, differing in their general level of trust and in their object of trust. Moreover, I find that integration should not be viewed as generally corrosive to trust. Rather, facets of integration and their varying association with different profiles should be recognized.

- Reposted by Jessica KuhlmannIf we don’t say “2026 MEN World Cup”, we should not say “2025 WOMEN European Cup”. Reject the “male norm” and just say “UEFA Euro 2025”, as there is no other one, so gender qualifications are unnecessary! Similarly, tag #EURO2025 rather than #WEURO2025

- ❕📣 My first paper is now published! “They don’t have the time for that, participating in politics” - How local politicians interpret political integration in the USA. It is available as open access in the Journal of International Migration and Integration. doi.org/10.1007/s121...
- During my time in Washington, D.C., last year, I interviewed local politicians about their views on the political integration of immigrants within their communities. I examined differences between immigrant and non-immigrant local politicians in particular.
- Key findings: Immigrant local politicians conceive political integration and other forms of integration as equally important. Non-immigrant politicians view political integration as subordinate to other forms of integration. Moreover, immigrants are described as inherently mistrusting of politics.
- The research was conducted during my research fellowship at @amgerinst.bsky.social in Washington, D.C. The fellowship is a cooperation between the NRW School of Governance, @unidue.bsky.social, the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the American-German Institute.

- Reposted by Jessica Kuhlmann“The most underexplored form of revolt against mainstream politics right now is the second kind, involving not angry young men lurching rightwards but anxious young women turning, if anything, more sharply left.” Kudos to @gabyhinsliff.bsky.social for this op-Ed (which I missed earlier).
- Reposted by Jessica KuhlmannThis obsession is with “young men turning to the right” is everything that is wrong with the discussion about the far right. It is not just an inadequate read of what is happening, and a bias towards the male norm, but it also normalizes the far right and obscures support for inclusive politics. 🧵
