- Reposted by Jerry EdwardsToday I am teaching Prigg v. Pennsylvania, which may be worse and more influential than Dred Scott. It radicalized countless normies into becoming abolitionists and provided constitutional cover for the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850. I want to call out a thing about it that doesn’t get much attention.
- Reposted by Jerry EdwardsThis honestly is sloppy and self-serving enough to call the Torture Memos to mind. Not even *mentioning* Payton is inexcusable.
- Reposted by Jerry EdwardsAs far as I know, this is DHS's first effort to explain their position that I-205 forms allow entry into the home. They rely on the dicta in the 1960 Abel case (before Payton) and re-imagine the plurality opinion in Lucas as if it were the majority (and then overrely on it).

- Reposted by Jerry EdwardsI’m on the scene at Franklin and 1st. A convoy of about a couple dozen ICE/HSI agents broke the entryway into an apartment building at 6am. No warrant presented. Less than 24 hours ago, Tom Homan announced the end of large convoys in Minnesota… Bullshit.

- Reposted by Jerry EdwardsNumerous people are pushing back against the reasonable consensus that Epstein was evil and that cozying up to him showed bad character. You are under no obligation to take those arguments seriously and respectfully. Look out, they may call you a “woke” “mob.”

- Reposted by Jerry EdwardsFrom an organizational standpoint, I have seen this in Wisconsin, and practically you will need more large scale election observer training. And the other issue is sending election observers out to early voting sites will be necessary. The tendency is to focus on same day election.

- Reposted by Jerry Edwards‼️ When a judge struck down the proposed Virginia redistricting constitutional amendment last week, he cited violation of a statute that required notice of amendments to be posted. The state legislature just repealed that statute, potentially killing the most plausible argument that challengers had.

- Reposted by Jerry EdwardsAs someone who has written extensively about moral panics regarding sex offenders (I once published an article about the criminal "war on sex offenders"), what is in the Epstein files and the reaction to it is absolutely not a moral panic. These are very real crimes and among the worst imaginable.
