Not the most flattering photo, but an honest one. A lot of people have asked how I am getting on with my skin cancer treatment, so I wanted to share a bit of real life from hospital today.
The good news first. My oncologist remains very happy, and if he is happy then I am more than happy. I continue immunotherapy every three weeks or so in London, with incredible care from the NHS.
I do my best to fit treatment around Parliament so I do not miss votes or debates. But sometimes, like today, that means travelling back to London on a Saturday for more bits and bobs.
Some days the treatment does get to you, side effects or just the process of it all. I know at Stage 2C I cannot moan, others face far tougher journeys. Thank you to the NHS and to everyone for the kindness. All being well, we are nearing the end of this stage.
Sorry to hear this, Ben. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
