- The role of poverty in pandemics has taken a back seat recently though I sincerely believe that the next pandemic can be prevented by lifting people out of poverty--globally. I dug this up from @gavinyamey.bsky.social and is as relevant today as it was in 2017. www.brookings.edu/articles/pan...
- Risk based testing doesn't work. Neither does risk based vaccination. This defeats the purpose of vaccination to protect the public's health. Abhorrent and unconscionable decision.
- Reposted by Josh Barocas, MD ⭕️A Hampton Inn in Asheville just canceled my family's reservation because our address (incorrectly) showed Asheville—and the hotel bars locals within 50 miles. When I asked why, they said, "because of our homeless population," adding that most hotels here have similar policies. This is outrageous.
- Criminalizing poverty is not the way to end #homelessness. This is a generational issue that requires serious solutions. Not executive orders based on hate and stigma issued by unserious people.
