i spent about half an hour of my time today, in the underground lot of a walmart, talking to my house rep's staffer, then my state senator's legislative assistant. dems are worried about midterms and many don't want to take action on ICE+DHS until then. PUSH THEM NOW.
every single level of govt you can access - if you're ok talking on the phone, call them. push them for action now. what are they doing to abolish ICE? what are they doing to shut down detention ctrs/prevent them from being built? how are they divesting from private prison money? that's OUR money.
