- Weird request: I'm looking for good movies (especially indie) where seemingly "nothing happens" in that the story is character focused, small, emotional, bearing witness to a human being. My mind goes to Brittany Snow's recent directorial debut "Parachute." Other examples please.
- Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles. From 1975. Incredible, mesmerizing film.
- Saw this earlier today which of course led to hours reading my diaries. Funny how words can put you right back in those emotions. The good, the bad, and the wistful.
- This time on MY LIFE IN THE PAST! The secret diary of Lucy Worsley, aged eleven-and-a-half. Unbelievably wholesome, and a little bit lonely 😀 lucyworsley.substack.com/p/the-diary-...

- I wondered about that too. Maybe because it sounds so *out there*... but then everything in the last year has been way fucking out there. Maybe (sadly) people are becoming numb to the never ending evil atrocities. Or, maybe it's because Leach is dead & there's enough living evil to focus on.
- Posturer says he wants to cut through the posturing. God give me patience.
- I'm reading about the Hydro building & how security guards apparently are not enough after an 18-year-old went crazy. Now they need guards with pepper spray and handcuffs? But they are able to lock the building down & patrons can access the restaurants from the outside? 🤔 /2

- I wonder if Hydro ee's just drive into the building? Or where do they walk from? They feel safe until they walk into the Hydro building? I worked downtown for decades. The circle under P&M made me nervous because it was a blind corner. I just don't think escalating the guards' weopons is the answer.
- Unpopular opinion, and I KNOW I’m in the minority here, but I hate cooking shows. I also hate cooking, so…

- That one actually sounds nice, especially if they would show some of the area instead of just staying in the kitchen. The only cooking show I could leave on for any length of time was Jamie Oliver during the holidays. That was basically to see a different country & ppl sitting at a decorated table

- The competitions are the worst. I can't stomach them at all. From the small bits of cooking shows I have seen, so often they're showing dishes I would never eat anyway. They are definitely popular for some though.
- Absolutely maddening. And I wonder how many of these parents who refuse to vaccinate their children, are vaccinated themselves? As in, they'll be OK, but they are not giving that same protection to their children. Facebook should be banned. www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews...
- I spent over 3 decades walking all around the downtown. Alone. Once I stumbled into a homeless encampment. It felt like I inadvertently walked into someone's house. Do you have to keep your eyes open & be aware? Of course. Have things gotten worse? In my later years I would say yes, however...
- We are training people to be terrified to walk anywhere. I've been approached by pan handlers. I was always polite. I've been called a name once or twice, again I remained polite. Yes, people can be unpredictable, but that's everywhere. Imo pepper spray & handcuffs in an office bldg is overreacting.
