- Yesterday our outgoing and incoming Executive Committees for the HiTOP Society met to reflect on how far we've come and where we want to take things in 2026. There are not many things I feel optimistic about right now, but this group is one for sure ✨
- I’m pretty delighted to be part of this awesome group! Can’t wait to work together in this new chapter for HiTOP
- At @abctnow.bsky.social, Rutgers’ Ellen Wittler found that undergrads who were more depressed demonstrated a stronger momentary association between tiredness and sadness, suggesting they might be experienced more similarly by those folks 🥱😥
- Małgorzata Gambin found that female sexual problems did not load with other internalizing symptoms in a @hitop-system.bsky.social -informed model in a sample of 224 Polish women 🇵🇱
- Looking for a post-bac RA position focused on the brain bases of affective and psychotic illness? @holmeslab-bhi.bsky.social is hiring! @cahbir.bsky.social @rutgersbhi.bsky.social @rutgersu.bsky.social @sobp-org.bsky.social @hitop-system.bsky.social @ohbmofficial.bsky.social
- I’ve spent the last 8 years(!) working from the position that HiTOP relies too much on analyses of traditional diagnoses, baking in limitations of the DSM, and that we need to move to symptom-level analyses to fix it It turns out that rebuilding HiTOP from the ground up doesn’t change much 💀 1/

- Very excited to see this out from @hitop-system.bsky.social! It really seems like these are two literatures poised to advance each other. Looking forward to reading this with my lab.

- Investigating the joint structure and age-invariance of psychopathology and cognition in 112,712 older adults from the UK Biobank: osf.io/m2ndt
- Just remember. @hitop-system.bsky.social is a greasroots consortium cum society with vastly fewer resources than APA throws at DSM (and presumably similar for IDC). Most of the work's been done FOR FREE (in kind).
- Two new viewpoints out now in Journal of Psychopathology and Clinical Science. One challenges the HiTOP consortium to "stand on its own two feet" for clinical translation, meaning it needs to sell itself not just exist in opposition to DSM/ICD categories. 1/3 psycnet.apa.org/record/2026-...
- *New preprint* on ND and co-occurring mental health problems from my lab, led by Chiara Caserini! Using longitudinal data from ABCD we asked: What drives poor mental health outcomes in children with high ND traits? Here's brief summary 🧠🌳🏡 www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1.... 1/n
- Take this brief survey on how mental health stakeholders (students, researchers, clinicians) learn about HiTOP (@hitop-system.bsky.social) - also including common challenges & misconceptions. csufull.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_... Please share to help improve HiTOP education! 💡

- Great letter. Thank you HiTOP 🙏🏽
- Some of our members have submitted a letter to Meta protesting their revised policy on hateful conduct that now allows allegations of mental illness on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity You can read the letter and list of signatories here: www.hitop-system.org/letter-to-meta 1/2
