- New plan: every time I feel despair about politics, go search for whatever Mamdani is up to that day.
- From @acyn.bsky.social (posted on X) "Reporter: Do any of you have a favorite animal? Child: My favorite one is a gold snake that can move. It has gold eyes, and it has a super-duper tail… Reporter: Mr. Mamdani, the second question for you. Mamdani: Yes. It’s also the golden snake."
- I want to read pretty much everything in @criticalai-journal.bsky.social but there doesn't seem to be a PDF or other full text download option. Reader view and print to PDFs are not formatted well either. What am I missing?

- Example of #qualitative data synthesis. I appreciate the detain in how the studies were analyzed here, using both a spreadsheet and NVivo.
- Reposted by Jess Hagman🔭 What’s the future of reflexivity & how do we put it into practice? New article in @natrevmethodsprimers.nature.com I argue for three priorities 1) evaluation criteria 2) studying reflexivity as a socio-cognitive phenomenon 3) adapting it across research traditions OA: rdcu.be/eX79L

- Hi #qualitative folks. We've extended the deadline for this CFP on the behinds the scenes process of QDA to Jan 9!
- Reposted by Jess HagmanThe ACM Digital Library, where a LOT of computing-related research is published (I'd say at least 75% of my own publications), is now not only providing (without consent of the authors and without opt-in by readers) AI-generated summaries of papers, but they appear as the *default* over abstracts.

- Reposted by Jess HagmanWe ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers. The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.
