- I'm not saying that is the most likely motivation, I was just suggesting it's a possibility. Wilson will have to take seriously the difficulty getting SPD to do anything other than bully and surveil poor and Black and Brown people.
- I just found out that in Kerala, India, most prisoners get 15 days leave to visit their families every three months. Fewer than 100 women are incarcerated in the state, which has a population nearly the size of California. Levels of humanity and civilization unheard of in the U.S.

- Definitely related. The politics of Kerala is more left-wing than India as a whole and had taken on a more humanistic perspective
- It won't boost resources for SPD but it will definitely expose the contradictory logic of trying to get cops who love ICE to curtail the agency. Perhaps that's the point, to stir up public anger against SPOG and make it clear who the fifth column is in Seattle.
