More than 1,000 people protested in Seattle today against ICE’s attacks on immigrants and the recent killings of Renee Nicole Good and Keith Porter by ICE officers.
Jan 12, 2026 00:49Speakers at the rally included local community leaders and elected officials, including King County Executive Girmay Zahilay and Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson. The politicians condemned the federal government crackdown and pledged to defend immigrants within their jurisdictions.
Attendees shared various messages, the most prominent of which was rejection of the increasingly authoritarian rule of U.S. President Donald Trump. Some drew connections to the recent attack on Venezuela, saying that the government’s attacks on migrants at home are linked to foreign imperialism.
