- Gender attitudes are likely more important than gender alone. The literature confirms that hostile and modern sexism played a role in Trump’s election and probably the success of other radical/far-right parties. 3/7

- People are more likely to accept gender inequality if it is men who are worse off. A new paper with experiments on 35k Americans shows that when men are worse off people are: - more likely to attribute the inequality to a difference in effort - less likely to support pro-equality policies.

- Yesterday I gave two long lectures for law students at the Nova School of Law in Lisbon. We covered "as many research methods as possible" from discourse analysis to quasi-experiments and quantitative text analysis. Teaching people from another discipline is a very useful challenge!
