Conversion therapies claim to change a person's sexual orientation or gender identity, equating homosexuality with a disease. According to ILGA, conversion therapies are only completely banned in eight European Union countries: France, Belgium, Cyprus, Germany, Malta, Portugal, Spain and Greece.
