- Reposted by Garry WalshIn and around Deputy Fitzmaurice blowing a gasket live on-air, I did manage to squeeze in a few points relating to #flooding and nature-based solutions last night.
- For those secretly happy that climate change was going to make Ireland toasty & give us more ice cream days, this week's floods should be a wake-up call. Meanwhile our govt is advancing plans for new LNG gas terminals. No new fossil fuel infrastructure please! www.irishtimes.com/environment/...
- Absolutely outrageous that organisations like Oxfam and ActionAid are going to be forced out of Gaza by Israel, preventing the delivery of life saving aid to hundreds of thousands of people
- What a crazy and exciting way to start a new job - only 2 weeks in my new position at Oxfam Ireland and somehow I find myself dressed up as an evil billionaire on national television! What do you think, would you tax me?

- Do you have 2 mins for Palestine? We need to put huge pressure on new Minister for Foreign Affairs Helen McEntee to show that public support for the #OccupiedTerritoriesBill is huge, and that passing it in full needs to be her top priority as she takes office. www.trocaire.org/petitions/mi...
- As Helen McEntee takes up her new role as Minister for Foreign Affairs, the most urgent item in her in-tray must be passing the Occupied Territories Bill. This must be passed as a priority, urgently & in full. Spain passed their legislation in four weeks. Why has it taken Ireland over 7 years?
- If you're unsure of whether to come join the climate march today in Dublin, and whether marching even makes any difference, please have a read of my article in the Journal today. (Oh and the rain is due to ease off by noon! 😎) www.thejournal.ie/readme/clima...

- If anyone needs me for the next few weeks, I'll be out and about putting these posters and leaflets up around the city! Hope to see you all out on the streets on November 15th for the Climate March 🪧 📣 🌎
- Delighted to see the @irishtimes.com published a letter I wrote on the #OccupiedTerritoriesBill this morning. The Occupied Territories Bill must not fall victim to Trump-style transaction politics!
- 📣 Urgent Action - Occupied Territories Bill 📣 TDs return to the Dáil today - please take this online action to urge them to pass the Occupied Territories Bill in full, without delay. What could be more urgent than genocide, famine & ethnic cleansing? www.trocaire.org/petitions/ac...

- 87% of Irish people consider climate change a serious problem - yet we're way off track still to meet our climate targets
- 2025 Eurobarometer shows strong support for EU climate goals, renewables, & energy efficiency. Concern is rising about climate impacts, especially in Southern Europe. Ireland shows above-average support, however there is a strong need for reliable information. europa.eu/eurobaromete...

- Yes, it took a genocide for our government to finally act & yes, it is disappointingly watered down. Yet this is still historic. Thanks to relentless campaign pressure, Ireland is now poised to be the first Western country to ban trade with illegal Israeli settlements www.rte.ie/news/2025/05...

- Really interesting - the rural ireland vs dublin eco-warriors narrative of recent years doesn't seem to be grounded in terms of actual rural and urban attitudes to climate. Have vested interests being making outsized noises to drum up a culture war issue?
- Thousands and thousands marched today on the streets of Dublin in solidarity with #Palestine. Amazing energy! All parties promised to pass the #OccupiedTerritoriesBill before the election but nothing has happened. Why the delay? Don't break your promises! @trocaire.bsky.social @ipsc.bsky.social
- The UN’s top expert on Palestine has made it crystal clear on her visit to Ireland this week - the Occupied Territories Bill is a *minimum requirement* to comply with international law. I hope the Taoiseach & Tánaiste were watching PrimeTime last night www.rte.ie/news/primeti...
- This is what I needed this week. When oligarchs & authoritarian bullies are dominating the airwaves. When a brutal war on Gaza is resumed. Hearing directly from Francesca Albanese (UN special rapporteur on Palestine) speaking truth to power in Dublin today was inspiring and helps renew my activism.

We don’t deserve ‘em.

- Really excellent points here from Frances Black and the drafters of the #OccupiedTerritoriesBill There's no constitutional reason to water down the bill and exclude services. Excluding services would be "an entirely political and policy choice.” #PassTheOTB m.independent.ie/irish-news/i...

- I hope all our newly elected TDs were listening to the people demonstrating on the streets of Dublin today. They were calling to pass the #OccupiedTerritoriesBill within the first 100 days of govt - no delays, no watering down.

- The noisy antics inside Leinster House dominated headlines in the last 24 hours, but there was also a noisy crowd outside - demanding the Occupied Territories Bill be passed. Will the govt break its pre-election promise? We're calling on the govt to pass the bill within its first 100 days of govt
- Will our new govt water down the Occupied Territories Bill? Or even kill it? “A ban on just imports would be a significant step back. It would be totally out of step with what the Intl Court of Justice has said is required, which is a full ban on all trade" m.independent.ie/irish-news/o...

- The devil is always in the detail. Great that Simon Harris is standing firm in the face of Israeli & US pressure, but qualifiers around 'a version of the bill' are worrying. Watering down the #OccupiedTerritoriesBill would be letting down the people of Palestine www.irishtimes.com/politics/202...

- Strong call from the Climate Change Advisory Council for Ireland to phase out fossil fuels by 2039. However they fail to mention that we also have a responsibility to do this as a matter of climate justice - countries in the global south are being affected the most, by a problem not of their making
