- Reposted by Gabrielle N. PfundThe government is saying that violence rules. That snatching foreign leaders and territories, and shooting US citizens in their cars at point blank range, is justified. That resistance is not only futile, it is dangerous. They can say these things. But they cannot force us to believe them.

- New paper in Dev Psych with @emily-willroth.bsky.social & Tammy English! Momentary sense of purpose is higher & stabler in older adults than young adults--regardless of cognitive status. Though these fluctuations differ, what predicts them is fairly consistent. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...
- Momentary purpose was higher when individuals were working/volunteering, being physically active, and engaging in a social interaction*. Momentary purpose was lower when individuals were engaging in social media/TV. *Not all social interactions are created equally--context matters.
- Having more pleasant and less uncomfortable social interactions than usual were associated with higher purpose than usual (within-person effect). However, only average social interaction pleasantness (and not discomfort) was associated with average momentary purpose (between-person).

- RQ1: Using mixed effect location scale modeling, we found that older adults scored *higher* on 10/11 well-being domains than young adults (all domains except for life satisfaction). Additionally, they showed less within-person variability in *all* 11/11 well-being domains than young adults. (2/8)
- RQ2: Using multi-group, multilevel SEM, we then investigated whether the between- and within-person associations differed in magnitude for young versus older adults. At the between-person level, 5/55 of the associations were significantly stronger (p < .001) for young adults than older adults. 3/8
