- My story on the mayor’s inaccurate claim today. gothamist.com/news/mayor-a...
- “The Constitution is for Americans,” Adams says, when asked why he’s afforded due process in his criminal case and why he’s open to deporting migrants who are accused — not convicted — of crimes.
- Mayor seems clearly interested in working with Trump administration on deporting those accused of crimes. He won’t clarify what kind of crimes or whether he wants to stipulate that migrants receive due process — which is the current sanctuary law.
- Mayor feeling vindicated today after being asked about Biden’s pardon of his son Hunter. He adds that it’s been painful to not be able to comment on leaks in his case and defend himself.
- Asked about Biden’s pardon of his son Hunter, Adams reads a sentence from the NYT saying that both Biden and Trump now agree that the Biden Justice Department has been politicized.
- Interesting to note that mayor is still complaining and angry about migrant crisis as Biden leaves office.
- “They hurt the future of New York City,” Adams says about migrant crisis. “We all should be angry about what happened under this administration (Biden),” he adds. Should note economists have attributed higher national GDP to migrants. Migrants enrolled in schools helped nyc from losing fed funding.
- At his weekly presser, Mayor Adams says he plans to speak with Trump's incoming border czar Tom Homan to see if they can find common ground. "I’m not going to be warring with this administration. I’m going to be working with this administration."
