"Yes, I am," Adams says on Fox5 after being asked if he's worried about not getting a fair trial in New York City due to prosecutors' public comments about his corruption case. "Because remember what do we pick our jury from? We pick our jury from the public."
Adams insists he has "never defended" any misconduct ex-NYPD Chief of Department Jeff Maddrey was allegedly involved in. "I defended his police record," he says.
Adams has defended Maddrey in the face of misconduct accusations, tho.
Asked about some of Maddrey's alleged past abuse of authority, Adams said last year: "I have the utmost respect, confidence in Chief Maddrey and I’m excited that he’s leading my patrol force. I’m excited.”
