- I have sympathy & solidarity /w newspaper staffers who are facing layoffs, but the media industry has relied on screwing freelancers for over a decade. Most outlets won't hire photojournalists, they'd have to pay for equipment, benefits & salaries. Instead, they blow off invoices and pivot to slop.
