Climate Action Campaign
CAC is a vibrant coalition of a dozen major national environment, environmental justice, and public health groups, working together to drive ambitious, durable federal action based on science, to address the climate crisis.
- The Olympics might just be starting tonight, but we’re ready to hand out some of the first medals. Between the fossil fuel handouts and clean energy cancellations, the Trump administration's #PollutersFirstAgenda has earned them the title of "Biggest Sell-outs to Polluters."

- We visited Muskegon to discuss the impacts of climate change on the Great Lakes. Warming temperatures are affecting the overall health of the lakes, leading to heavier snowfall, unstable ice cover, and increased algal blooms. Our federal leaders must take climate action.
- Climate change doesn't just affect our health, but our wallets too - yet President Trump’s pick for Federal Reserve chair wants to drop any focus on climate change. Ignoring this massive risk to our economy means there's no way his decisions will be in the country's best interest. bit.ly/4ae2QL8

- One year into the Trump administration, our communities have been facing raising costs. Household electric bills are up 13% and utility bills have increased by $85 billion since Trump took office. His administration's reliance on expensive fossil fuels will only make this worse.
- Earlier this month, CAC visited LA and hosted a tour with community members and local leaders to discuss the impacts of the January 2025 wildfires. One year later, residents are still facing devastating impacts and struggling to rebuild. Without climate action, these disasters will get worse.
- Severe winter storms, like the one that hit many parts of the US this weekend, put strain on the natural gas power system, leading to power outages and rapid price spikes. Dependence on unreliable fossil fuels is putting us at risk when these winter storms hit. www.cnbc.com/2026/01/26/u...

- One year after LA's catastrophic wildfires, residents are still facing devastating impacts. Over the weekend, CAC hosted a tour of homes and businesses affected by the fire, highlighting how survivors are still struggling to rebuild. Thank you to @chu.house.gov for joining us!

- Reposted by Climate Action CampaignYour energy bills are up because Donald Trump is determined to keep them that way. He promised to cut energy costs by 50%, but here we are a year later, and they are up 13%, all because he's dead set on dismantling America's energy independence.

- Today marks 1 year of Trump’s presidency. It has been the most disastrous period of anti-science, climate regressive policies in history, with more than 100 rollbacks and other harmful actions leading to substantial, measurable harms to the American people and the climate.
- During his first year, Trump discontinued the billion-dollar disaster database. @climatecentral.org stepped in with tracking and revealed that in 2025 there were 23 billion dollar disasters totaling $115 billion in damages. abcnews.go.com/US/us-experi...
- Spent the morning with @levin.house.gov @casten.house.gov @menendez.house.gov @repstansbury.bsky.social and @markey.senate.gov to discuss how Americans are paying the price for Trump's relentless, reckless attacks on clean energy, one year into his new term. www.actonclimate.com/post/1-year-...

- Every community deserves affordable, reliable clean energy. But the Trump administration is forcing families to pay higher bills while keeping dirty, expensive energy sources open. That’s not policy – that’s a #ClimateCrimeScene. Here's just some of our evidence⬇️
- One year after some of the deadliest and most destructive wildfires in state history tore through Los Angeles, families are still reeling, businesses are still recovering, and communities are still rebuilding—yet the Trump admin continues to withhold critical disaster relief and deny climate change.

- In October, a supercell thunderstorm hit Tempe, AZ, displacing over 130 people, causing damage to 70+ businesses, and leaving 34,000 customers without power. 2025 was a crazy year of extreme weather, and climate change is increasing the frequency and intensity of these events. #2025inExtremeWeather
- This fall we saw devastating floods hit Alaska, displacing 1500 people and destroying 200+ homes. AK’s native populations are at increased risk from flooding due to climate change, and it's critical we take climate action to protect these communities from further destruction. #2025inExtremeWeather
- From extreme heat and wildfires to severe rain and floods, Arizona has seen its fair share of extreme weather. In September, flooding in Globe caused 4 deaths and damage to 59 businesses and 150 homes. Climate change is intensifying these storms, leading to more destruction. #2025inExtremeWeather
- In August, historic flash floods hit Chattanooga Tennessee, leading to 3 deaths and putting 6+ million people under flood watch. Because of climate change, rare disasters have now become common occurrences. It's critical we take climate action to protect our communities in the future.
- Extreme heat is the most dangerous form of extreme weather, and Arizona has faced some of the worst. In August, Phoenix broke a daily heat record at 118 degrees. We need urgent climate action to protect our communities from these deadly milestones. #2025inExtremeWeather
- In July, a megafire engulfed the Grand Canyon spreading rapidly due to low humidity and strong winds, destroying over 70 structures including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge. Climate change is driving hotter, drier summers and increasing conditions that spread wildfires. #2025inExtremeWeather

- The Central Texas flooding was some of the most devastating extreme weather we saw this year, causing 135 total deaths, including 37 children and $1.1 B in damages. In Texas, storms are now 7% wetter because of climate change. We need urgent climate action to prevent future disasters like this.
- Earlier this year, Ruidoso, NM suffered from monsoon rains and record flash flooding that led to 3 deaths and 65 people needing rescue. The area was made more vulnerable by wildfire damage and burn scares from the year before, as burned soil repels water causing more flooding and significant damage.

- In June, torrential rain caused flash flooding in West Virginia, causing 9 deaths and damage to over 100 homes. The state is already vulnerable to flooding, but climate change is driving conditions that cause more intense and frequent downpours. #2025inExtremeWeather
- Earlier this year, Pennsylvania saw severe thunderstorms that led to 4 deaths, power outages in 400,000+ homes, and significant destruction. Climate change is driving heavier rain and storms—in PA and the northeast heavy rainstorms drop 60% more rain than they did in the 1950s. #2025inExtremeWeather
- In addition to wildfires and floods, extreme weather like ice storms can cause significant damage to our communities. In March, a severe ice storm in Northern Michigan left thousands without power and caused widespread destruction. Follow along daily to see #2025inExtremeWeather
