- Currently reading Silent Spring (published 1962), so this story hits particularly hard. - A peak in life was meeting Jimmy Carter to edit his essay for Mighty Giants, An American Chestnut Anthology (2007, Amer. Chestnut Fd.). His farm had 3 chestnut trees at the southern limit of their range that were integral to his life. He was kind, inclusive, and funny. Wish he’d had a 2nd term.
