- We've just signed contracts for a new roof on the house. I've been wanting to do this for 2-3 years but we were stymied by our solar panels: no roofing contractor wants to touch them, no solar company was interested in maintenance, just installations. We finally have a company who can do both.
- In about a week, a dumpster will arrive in our driveway, along with roofing supplies. Our 43 panels will be removed, the entire shingle roof will be replaced (wood structures repaired where needed), and the panels placed back where they were. Estimated total: $31k. More news as it develops.

I've had to pay a phone bill and pay my parents back some money over the past week. I need another £50 at least to get another week's worth of food alone.

- I received a copy of Mom's latest will. Specific gifts to the grandkids, no mention at all of the step grandkids. Gifts to her late bf's son, her brother & me in recognition of past support & assistance. All else split evenly between her six kids (or surviving spouses thereof).
- I'm planning to decline any gifts from her estate: I don't need the money, and I'd prefer she use it while alive rather than give it away after death. It's also entirely possible she'll live another 10-15 years and will have a new will written then. I'm fine either way.

- Celebrating 17 years with my current employer! There were several times across the years where I nearly quit --and once when I did. But I'm still here, outlasting every CEO, COO, CTO, CFO, VP, director and manager I've ever had.
- Wow, the end of an era. I'm feeling both "sad to see it go" and "it's about gd time" at the same time. I have an odd ambivalence on this.
