We've just signed contracts for a new roof on the house. I've been wanting to do this for 2-3 years but we were stymied by our solar panels: no roofing contractor wants to touch them, no solar company was interested in maintenance, just installations. We finally have a company who can do both.
In about a week, a dumpster will arrive in our driveway, along with roofing supplies. Our 43 panels will be removed, the entire shingle roof will be replaced (wood structures repaired where needed), and the panels placed back where they were. Estimated total: $31k.
More news as it develops.
