- it's because a Chicken Little tHe sKy iS fALLiNg phenomenon has taken over regarding elections and people can't seem to get a fucking grip
- will Trump try to fuck with elections? Yes! He always does, apparently. But his ability is very limited. And he fucks up most everything he ever does! We can beat him!
- Imagine you're Greg Abbott and you loooove that boot so you say "we're going to honor martial law and cancel our election" but then things play out & it turns out all the other states except Florida and Wyoming went ahead with their elections so now it's October and Texas can't get its shit together
- and the result is Texas, Florida, and Wyoming just don't get any representatives seated in 2027. In blockchain terms this is called hard forking without consensus.
- Reposted by Kellum DanderImagine if four years into our war in Iraq we had only occupied 20 percent of it and lost 1.2 million men. Would anyone say the US is winning? No? Then how in the hell can you say Russia is winning?!
- Reposted by Kellum Danderone thing i have noticed is a lot of folks do not seem to understand the difference between a presidential election and 435+ legislative elections. i have seen any number of people say that you could subvert the outcome this november by targeting “swing states,” which does not make any sense.
- Not only this but also they're terribly inept when they try things. J6 failed! Every business Trump ran failed! Most of his initiatives fail horribly. He's a comic book villain. We can beat him!
- Reposted by Kellum Danderin order to save this country we are probably going to have to do things that make rich men sad 😔
- Reposted by Kellum DanderI understand folks are scared but I want you to think about the mechanics of this. There are more polling places (>100k) than ICE and CBP agents combined, so they can only pick a few districts to try to intimidate. Now what happens when cell phone footage of that goes online in the early morning?
- i think people should consider the extent to which bannon, a known bullshit artist, knows that you will see this and panic. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

- probably the best way to generate engagement on this site is to say there isn't going to be another election
- WaPo was always a loss leader for Bezos - he bought the brand for the prestige of whatever it put into print, not for any income it might generate. Jeff Bezos could operate WaPo like a charity and it wouldn't make any measurable dent in his wealth. So any changes are for reasons other than money.
- Reposted by Kellum DanderTo understand what's going down at WaPo, this information is essential. The tech bros brought Trump to power, and the are exploiting their hold on the administration to accumulate wealth in an obscene fashion. The last thing they want is a newspaper running exposés that mess things up.
- the important part is that we can finally stop bickering with friends about this and all agree - drop WaPo
- Reposted by Kellum DanderExcellent news.
- Reposted by Kellum Danderit’s genuinely reassuring to me that this is the most miserable and paranoid person in the entire world
- Reposted by Kellum DanderIn my opinion these people are the real heroes of the resistance to ICE. There’s no credit, no one can talk about their work (because they directly contact vulnerable families). It’s expensive and dreary and neverending. ICE follows them around. But they refuse to abandon their neighbors
- Reposted by Kellum Danderalways bears repeating that this is NOT a financial decision. jeff bezos is worth over 250 billion dollars. he can afford to lose many millions and never even notice it. this is, at its core, a political and personal decision by bezos to destroy the post
- Reposted by Kellum Danderi suppose it’s fitting that the model the billionaires have in mind when they want to destroy a journalistic institution and make it a reactionary slop machine is The Free Press

Don’t put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to shoot Guns are not for threatening compliance for unarmed people doing things you don’t like
- my objection is logical: how can a group believe they can take over a whole-ass nation when they don't believe they can take over one of the two dominant political parties that is/should be primed with sympathizers
