- Very happy to share the paper on nuclear mRNA export by Nataliia Stefanyshena now out in #NAR! Nataliia uncovered that, counterintuitively, an excess of the conserved mRNA exporter Mex67 in yeast messenger ribonucleoprotein particles (mRNPs) impairs mRNA export. academic.oup.com/nar/article/...
- Reposted by Sträßer labHappy to share the work by Fabienne Becker et al in #NAR, showing how yeast Tho1-CTD stimulates helicase activity of Sub2, homologue of human DDX39B/UAP56, by promoting Sub2 oligomerization on RNA. The scaffolding mechanism is shared across species: academic.oup.com/nar/article/...
- Proud to bring together so many excellent invited speakers for our RTG 2355 International Conference next September, and looking forward to welcoming you @jlugiessen.bsky.social! 👉 tinyurl.com/rtg2355conf
- Happy to announce our RTG 2355 International Conference “Regulatory landscapes of RNA: From code to control”, Sept 14-16, 2026 in Giessen, Germany. Topics cover #RNA as messenger, recruiting platform, sponge, regulator & sensor. 👉tinyurl.com/rtg2355conf Save the date – registration opens May 1!
- Reposted by Sträßer labAnd here goes another one - @rtg2355.bsky.social-member Fabienne Becker from the Friedhoff lab presented her research at the 2025 Helicase Conference in Lisbon today: "The Conserved C-terminal Domain of Tho1 Stimulates the DEAD-box Helicase Sub2" - more coming soon #proudCoordinator 😉
- Palina Kot from @straesserlab.bsky.social recently gave a talk on her "Structural and Functional Insights into the Sub2-Yra1-Tho1 Complex in Nuclear mRNP Biogenesis" at the 2nd Polish RNA Biology Meeting in Poznan - #proudPI
