- Reposted by PureferretSomething that really gets me about the state of battery development is that consumers have so many amazing battery powered devices now. Cordless stick vacuums have become very mainstream. Almost everyone is using cordless power tools, in fact lots of auto shops hardy use air tools anymore!

- Reposted by PureferretWhen you say “most states” you might note those are largely not swing states. The GOP has worked very hard to make voting hard in swing states, because when people are able to vote, they lose.
- Reposted by PureferretThey also banned same-day registration during early voting, and perhaps most critically, restricted Sunday voting. Sundays were the biggest early voting days for many minorities, through programs like “Souls to the Polls” that offered rides to the polling places, which is why they shut it down.

- Reposted by PureferretI've noticed a microgenre shift in SF over the last year - or possibly just in the books I've come across. Specifically, a bit of a boom in big concept space opera books working in the Banks/Hamilton ideaspace. Meaning SF that simultaneously delivers a strong action storyline against a backdrop

Instead he lost his work credentials and now kids are dying needlessly all over the world, so great job everyone.
- Austria loses its WHO status as measles-free, too, together with Armenia, Azerbaijan Uzbekistan and Spain. This comes as no surprise, considering the rise in numbers in recent years and the decline in MMR vaccine coverage #VaccineHesitancy #PublicHealthImpact #AllChildrenNeedProtection
