- So this happened a little while ago. I'm very grateful to the judges from the @psaireland.bsky.social and to @kevcunningham.bsky.social for generous financial support of the prize. It was great to be in Galway a few weeks ago to collect the award at the PSAI annual conference. lnkd.in/dEsZBksB
- I also want to thank my supervisors @filipkostelka.bsky.social and @simonhix.bsky.social for their generous feedback and support on this, the first paper from my PhD.
- Also to @fgenovese.bsky.social, David Rueda, Martín Alberdi, Cathrine Kjaer, @trackjannik.bsky.social, and many others for constructive feedback and help along the way.
- I’ll be in Dublin next Thursday to talk about the PhD program at the EUI. It is a fully funded four year program at one of Europes best research universities (yes, I am biased…). If anyone has interested students based in Ireland please share with them!
- 📍EUI at Trinity College Dublin → 27 November Discover the EUI’s fully-funded PhD programmes and meet researchers and alumni who will share their academic journeys. ⏰ 18:30–19:30 (UK time) 🔗 Register here: loom.ly/rAMGigc

- @jeffcolgan.bsky.social and I have spent some time thinking about different approaches to teaching the politics of climate change. We advocate an approach that emphasizes the different 'theories of change' behind decarbonization.
- We are excited to share a new resource for teaching climate politics! @jeffcolgan.bsky.social and @maxbradley.bsky.social introduce the framework here www.youtube.com/watch?v=CI20.... Visit the Syllabus Bank for more details climate.watson.brown.edu/syllabus-bank - we'd love your feedback!
- We provide a Decarbonization framework which we hope will help instructors to a) build a strong syllabus, b) map existing theories of change (e.g., Kyoto, Carbon Taxes, Green New Deal), and c) provide a practical teaching element where students can trace their own theories of change.
- If you found our explainer video interesting, we've also written a working paper which lays out our arguments in more detail. It includes a comprehensive literature review that may help instructors build their syllabi. You can download the paper here: climate.watson.brown.edu/syllabus-bank
- We would appreciate any feedback on our work (see form below). We take a materialist orientation, but there are many other approaches, e.g., those which empahsize ideational factors. We want to have a broad discussion on how we teach climate politics. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
- Reposted by Max BradleyVery excited to share this new tool for teaching the politics of climate change. What are the different *theories of change* that underlie decarbonization efforts and policies? Help your students learn about them. Please share widely. 🌎🔌💡🛢️
