- Abuse illiterates be like “you admitted to being an abuser” Ummm yes, that’s what gaslighting does to you, make you lose the sense of self and think you’re the problem. It means the gaslighting is successful.

- Reposted by DangerousBrownWoman (they/it)"We would have lost so much if we'd driven him away" is the justification. But we lost all those girls. We lost the women they would have become. We lost the work they would have done. Why was his future work so much more valuable than theirs?

- Survivors who speak up against sexual violence are almost always met with: • Mockery • Threats • “Not all men” • Character assassination • Silence from bystanders
- Reposted by DangerousBrownWoman (they/it)We cannot ask survivors to speak out about sexual violence while simultaneously punishing them for it. We cannot hold survivors responsible for their own justice while refusing to give it to them. We cannot expect survivors to come forward while making it impossible for them to do so.
- Reposted by DangerousBrownWoman (they/it)This level of apologia (from Megan McArdle in a podcast with Josh Barro and Ross Douthat) is fucking appalling. Idk what else there is to say.

- The trauma of knowing powerful white people regularly get away with sexual assault and how survivors are treated is double fold in my life on a personal scale and on a larger scale with the Epstein files
- My academic achievements are being recognized. Yay!!!😁
- The ‘perfect victim’ trope - “Nav should’ve done this or that” I did. I did everything. But the point is that you don’t want to see the undeniable hard truth in front of you ie your bestie Lohse is a sexual predator. And that’s not my problem. It’s a you problem. Deal with it.
- Reposted by DangerousBrownWoman (they/it)“The denial of verifiable reality is as dangerous as manufactured propaganda.” @thrasherxy.bsky.social on how, from Gaza to Minneapolis, we’re still being told not to believe what we see.
- Imagine saying “I’m disappointed in XYZ” to someone who doesn’t even know you exist. That’s some delusions of grandeur lol
- This is a pro-SA take, “I also remind you that the burden of obtaining consent is on the initiator, which was Navreen.” No, the obligation of consent is always ongoing for all parties: A: I didn’t initiate, I agreed to an ask B: I did tell her that she’s milking my shame and guilt
- Reposted by DangerousBrownWoman (they/it)The post-Me Too era has really taught me that the underlying issue with the persistence of sexual violence isn’t exactly women’s credibility, as the “believe women” slogan suggested, but rather with rape’s moral status. It’s not that people think it doesn’t happen. They think it doesn’t matter.
- It's disturbing to see many of the the major figures in moral cognition all over the Epstein files He was friendly with a huge number of the leading figures in the field, including giving millions to their labs, long after he pled guilty to sexually abusing young girls www.justice.gov/epstein

- Reposted by DangerousBrownWoman (they/it)I get tired of saying it, but I’ll say it again: the nature of oppression in America is that they workshop it first on Black, Latino, Asian & Native people. But it is always, in the end, coming for everyone.

- To watch your rapist be a powerful figure in the world, watch him commit atrocities on people all over the world including unleashing ICE and still be protected despite the entire world knowing the obvious truth in front of us all—is the level of heartbreak I am at today
