- One more thing about which level of government to blame for our housing woes: some people are just flat out racist and xenophobic. They're going to blame the level of government that is most suitable to their racism and xenophobia.
- I'm going to take a stab and hypothesize that your average Canadian doesn't see federal/provincial/municipal responsibilities as divided by jurisdiction, as much as ranked. For each thing that matters, feds are most responsible, provinces next, municipalities last.
- Abolish the provinces. Make municipalities exist at the whim of the federal government. That'll be hard, but easier than getting the broader population to stop blaming the federal government for everything.
- At some point, I suspect people are going to look at the output of the Major Projects Office and compare it with all the medium and minor projects that have been cut and realize we got less than we bargained for.

- IIRC, long ago, there was some legislation in Ontario that would require a referendum to raise taxes. Am I remembering correctly? If so, is it still on the books?
- We use a software library called VCR which has things called 'cassettes'. First version came out in 2010. If no such library already existed, and someone decided today to create one to fulfill the same purpose, I wonder what it would be called.
