It sounds intuitive, but it’s not entirely accurate. The problem isn’t just individual ignorance, it’s the structure of the information environment people are placed into.
- This Substack article is a great read. It shows how massive outside-PAC spending often fails to move the needle in elections — and that really rang true for my city council race.
- Despite a flood of mailers, PAC money, and even a temporary “news” site created during the campaign, what truly made the difference in Hudson was our own residents showing up because they knew how much was at stake.
- What did move the needle? Grassroots energy. Small donations from across the community. Neighborhood events. Real conversations. Yard signs, letters written from neighbor to neighbor, and people opening their homes and hearts to this campaign.
