- Reposted by Tobias WingenDoes trust in science drive intentions for health-related behaviour? Across four studies employing an experimental manipulation of trust in science, no evidence emerged to support a causal link between the two. @wingentobias.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/s44...

- Excited to unveil our new project & Shiny App: HaGenAI! 🎉 We test if AI can predict study results in behavioral econ: ~50 novel studies where LLMs give forecasts before data collection. 📊 Results are shared live and open here: 02mfnt-tobias-wingen.shinyapps.io/HaGenAI/ @fernunihagen.bsky.social

- Trust in science predicted protection intentions 😷 during the pandemic. But does this mean trust in science CAUSED protection intentions? 🤔 Yesterday at #FGSP2025, I presented our experimental work on this and got great feedback 🙌. If you are curious, here is our preprint: osf.io/preprints/os...
- Having a great time at #FGSP2025! Thanks for the laughs, @janaberkessel.bsky.social , and thanks for capturing the moment @marlephie.bsky.social 😊
- Reposted by Tobias WingenIn a new paper, my colleagues and I set out to demonstrate how method biases can create spurious findings in relationship science, by using a seemingly meaningless scale (e.g., "My relationship has very good Saturn") to predict relationship outcomes. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...

- Reposted by Tobias WingenVery excited to publicly share news about a new tool, Papercheck, that @debruine.bsky.social and me started to develop more than a year ago! In an introductory blog post, we explain our philosophy to automatically check scientific papers for best practices. daniellakens.blogspot.com/2025/06/intr...
- Reposted by Tobias WingenOur paper "A fragmented field" has just been accepted at AMPPS. We find it's not just you, psychology is really getting more confusing (construct and measure fragmentation is rising). We updated the preprint with the (substantial) revision, please check it out. osf.io/preprints/ps...

- It was great having Marlene Altenmüller (@marlephie.bsky.social) at our faculty colloquium today at FernUni Hagen ☺️. Thanks for the great and inspiring talk!
- 📢 New preprint now out on the causal (?) link between trust in science and pandemic protection intentions. Honestly, the results are not what I originally hoped for 🧐 Link: osf.io/th953_v1 with Simone Dohle & Ann-Christin Posten. 1/5
- Thanks for the Flashback! Publishing with @socpsyjournal.bsky.social was fantastic—the reviewers and editor were great and really improved the manuscript. However, what truly stood out was their understanding during my parental leave, granting me a 7-month extension so I could be a full-time dad. 😊👨👧

- Reposted by Tobias WingenNew paper: buff.ly/3ZcAz30 During the Covid-19 pandemic, many researchers felt the urge to contribute to the societal goal of curbing infection rates and alleviating the stress people experienced. Many thus (hastily) did "Covid Research".
