- It really doesn’t!
- The waiting room has to be the scariest place in the emergency department for registrars (in charge overnight) and consultants. So much unknown and unseen and changeable! #EDOvercrowdingKills

- I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Section Editor - Trainee Focus at Emergency Medicine Australasia! @emajournal.bsky.social
- Horrific scenes at Bondi beach. It has a special place in my heart as we stayed there over 13 years ago during our civil partnership. My thoughts go out to my adopted country, the local community, Jewish people & all those at Bondi beach & 2 the emergency services, responding to the violence.

- Reposted by Dr Thomas Shanahan MRCEMMisleading write-up - it's true that there is a crisis in A&E, but this is not because of "soaring demand". The RCN report itself shows that A&E attendances are only 3% higher than in 2019, while 12+ hour waits are 8,033% higher. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...
- Listening to the Aussie former players / commentators absolutely hammering England after the 1st innings. They sd know better - you cant judge until both teams have batted. Eng excellent bowling attack. Batting was at least at a clip.

- My poster at the ANZ Trauma Society Trauma Conference in Wellington. Great few days learning about cutting edge trauma research and practice. Enjoyed catching up with colleagues, meeting up with the trauma in older people community of practice and thinking about future collaborations. #ANZTS25

- Cost of training is one thing to factor in with any move of country. U.K. was pretty high. But wildly high in Australia and only going up and up. I guess you can get some back on tax in a year 🧐 🤔

- Voluntary erasure from the GMC medical register granted ✅ Pretty painless TBF and no only money to one regulator as it should be
- Very pleased to have two abstracts accepted for poster presentations at ACEM annual scientific meeting on the Gold Coast in November. One is on high vs low energy major trauma in the U.K. The other is on resuscitative hysterotomy in ED in pregnant trauma patients at RMH #ASM2025

- Very happy to receive notification of my selection into the #FACEM training program starting in Feb 26. With ROPL I will be starting as a TS2 trainee with 39 months of training remaining. Can’t wait to get back on the #emergencymedicine training journey at Monash Health ED.

- Application for voluntary erasure - relinquishing GMC registration ✅ They deserve no more money from me for what they are doing to U.K. medical practice
- Really happy with outcome of ROPL application for U.K. EM training towards FACEM training. TS1 complete, primary exam complete; 3 months TS2; half paediatrics requirement; major referral requirement for core ED; 6 months non-ED. 19 Aug I’ll hear if I got into training
- 🥳 Happy to have a poster on resuscitative hysterotomy accepted for the ANZTS trauma conference in Wellington in October.
- ED #overcrowding & #accessblock is a challenge everywhere! 140 in an ED and 60+ waiting just before the night shift starts. This picture is similar across Oz This is why I left the U.K. (which is in as bad or worse a situation). Why are Govs not dealing with ramping, access block, crowding?
- Signed my Monash Health ED registrar contract today for next year. Now just have to find a place to live next year 😦 🤞🤞🤞

- Today is a good day! Approval for my research project as ED research registrar at RPH. Looking at patient outcomes in older major trauma patients injured by low energy falls vs high energy mechanisms at RPH from start of 2017 to end of 2022.
- Where did you want to work? Starting med school: UK During med school: UK / USA (after time spent at Johns Hopkins) After med school: UK After core training: UK During HST: Australia I’m in Australia because NW EM training scheme sent me 2 a trust I didn’t want 2 go 2 🤷♂️
