One bit of good news from the update about the merger - there's a commitment to keep us all on our existing pensions.
Our new name is still not definite, but it's likely to be London & SE University Group.
We'll also ALL remain on our existing contracts.
Feb 4, 2026 14:07Good news for students - they will still have degrees from Kent or Greenwich and will study at their uni of choice. The group will allow for offering more courses.
(No mention of more staff....)
And that's it done.
We were given a timeline of things that will be happening between now and August (lots of engagement with staff and students) but ultimately it's Business As Usual.
I'm not sure it will have reassured staff at either uni. We shall see.
