- Someplace I volunteer at, another person suggested a birdsong app (Merlin Bird ID) that works like Shazam, it listens to the birds to tell you what you’re hearing. What a delight to finally learn which birds surround me.

- Close views of some interesting lichen on an ancient oak that regrettably fell over in a storm in December 2024. All of this beautiful wood had to go on the bonfire because some of the sweet chestnuts are infected with a tree disease. I took these pictures to remember this ancient elder.

- Here’s another from 2018…? Some feathers I found on the ground and were too pretty to leave. I think wild geese and magpies.
- Today is housework since becoming ill again. Dust, dust, dust! Have an unrelated image of lichen on one of Stonehenge’s stones, taken during dawn hours before sunrise at summer solstice 2018. Lichen is fascinating and nifty, and tells us about pollution and air quality in an area.
