- Reposted by Danyal AkarcaWe propose a novel framework that disentangles the concepts of “hardware” and “state” within the NCA. For us: - Rules = "Physics" dictating state transitions. - Hardware = Immutable + heterogeneous scaffold guiding the CA behaviour. - State = Dynamic physical & computational substrate.

- Reposted by Danyal AkarcaI wrote a thing for @thetransmitter.bsky.social. The attack on scientific infrastructure happening in the US shows that relying on any one country is not a good option for science. We need to start supporting and building international, decentralised infrastructure for science.
- Scientific data and independence are at risk: We need to work with community-driven services and university libraries to create new multi-country organizations that are resilient to political interference. By @neuralreckoning.bsky.social #neuroskyence www.thetransmitter.org/policy/scien...

- Reposted by Danyal AkarcaTwo years ago @danakarca.bsky.social & I wondered: Could the features we observe in brains across species be caused by shared functional, structural & energetic constraints?🧠⚡️ With our spatially embedded RNN we show this is true! www.nature.com/articles/s42... 🧵 #neuroscience #compneuro #NeuroAI
