- WINE REVIEW: Cadenza Vineyards’ 2023 Resonance is an outstanding #wine. Winemaker Carl Helrich showcases his respect for the local soil through a blend of estate-grown grapes. Noted for its deep burgundy color and fruity aroma, the wine features low tannins and a flavorful profile: 9.5/10. 🍷

- When I was in journalism school, The Washington Post was the dream. This was the publication of the people, the powerful newspaper that took down a corrupt president. My career took me in a different direction, but I kept my love for the Post. Today marks one of the darkest days for press freedom.

To help out Treasury: It rhymes with corruption. It's also spelled the same as corruption.

- Rumor has it that the DoD's Dept. of Army is withholding furlough letters that civil servants need to sign as part of the government shutdown. I hear many of them received emails tell them to work as usual today, as if they're not on furlough. @vanhollen.senate.gov, can you staff check in on that?

- My favorite Catherine O'Hara line of everything she's done. She was the queen of comedy and always the perfect person for the part. My heart is broken for her family and her fans.

- Mark Anderson of Minnesota said he had weapons in his bag, and inside the bag was a barbecue fork and a pizza cutter, according to the criminal complaint. Not sure if the pizza cutter or the BBQ fork would open Luigi Mangione's cell.

- “We should be angry, because for years, no one listened,” said NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy. “This was 100% preventable.” The findings include a chain of errors, including a task-saturated air traffic controller, reliance on “visual separation” and limitations in what the helicopter crew could see.
