Just received my Atreus from @keyboard.io. Super nerdy cool. Light and portable. Current setup should work well with #emacs. - Now that sales are closed and Jesse's back from China, we've started the purchasing for the Box of Crap. Since we've never done the purchasing remotely before, we're taking things a little bit slowly, only buying a few things at a time and having them shipped to our fulfillment center.
- The first item, which was one of Jesse's holy grail items turns out to have an even better story than we'd hoped. We paid for it last night and expect it to be shipped to the fulfillment center on Sunday.
- The second item, which, by all rights ought to be the most expensive item in the box but costs about the same as a cable we're including, got ordered just now and has a lead time of 2-3 days.
- Tomorrow, we'll probably order a couple of the smaller, less expensive items.
- We're at the factory testing out font size and weights for the Preonic's laser-engraved legends (set in @mwichary.bsky.social's Gorton Perfected)
- Single character legends and two character legends will be in Gorton Perfected Regular set at what Illustrator calls '5mm' tall. Legends with words will be set in Gorton Perfected Regular at what illustrator calls '3mm' tall. Do we wish we'd done the test with font sizes in points? Absolutely.
- We're at the injection molding factory today for the 'T1' injection mold test. We're also putting together some options for just how transparent to make the plastic enclosure.
