- This is such a comprehensive and clear summary of all of the challenges facing women in academia. But so frustrating that, 35 years since I began my career, the problems are still the same: ‘Motherhood penalty’ in particular. ☹️
- Looking forward to this event tonight in Glasgow. A thorny child rights topic. @jkgillettswan.bsky.social and I have tried to formulate a rights respecting process for addressing the many issues that arise. Interested to hear the perspectives of the different perspectives of the expert panel.
- Please don’t expound the benefits of child participation while you develop laws & policies without them. An infographic explaining what you should do when you haven’t involved children on the right. The left is for those wanting to do their best to get it right- Lansdown’s 3Cs plus the Lundy Model.
- Reposted by Prof Laura Lundy⚠️CALL FOR PAPERS⚠️ Biennial Workshop on Developing Research in Children's Rights and Family Law, @LawUCC, 10-11 April 2025. Join us for the fourth installment of this hugely popular event. Pre-read format; numbers strictly limited. Queries to me. Please share widely!
- Reposted by Prof Laura LundyHelp! I can't find much research literature on *children's* views about capacity (to consent, be consulted, exercise #rights etc) There's LOTS on what adults think about it! We're planning research with CYP on this, and would be very grateful for any pointers to papers - please repost!
- empoweringchildren.gov.mt/vuci-toolkit/ New toolkit developed by a team of us at University College Cork in partnership with the Maltese Ministry of Social Policy & Children’s Rights, the Children’s Commissioner & (of course) a Child Advisory Group to capture the impacts of child participation.
- Reposted by Prof Laura LundyEmbarrassed that I didn’t know about the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. The language is horribly dated it but it remains relevant today. 😢 Prof Lundy is right - if we were to write a declaration or convention today, children & young people would be central, to do otherwise is unthinkable.
