- Reposted by Derek JohnsonFed judges are getting PISSED. The levels of overt anger we are seeing in opinions is not, I think, at all usual.
- Judge Reyes’s conclusion: “There is an old adage among lawyers. If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither, pound the table. … Having neither and bringing the adage into the 21st century, [Noem] pounds X (f/k/a Twitter).”
- Would it surprise you to know that 15 states have Democratic governing trifectas?
- Let’s say exhibitors eat about $45M through the end of the run. MGM looks to eat about $65M, for a total loss of $110M. That means the Bezos bribe to Trump of $26M also cost others in the industry another $84M
- US movie theaters average 150 seats, present 4 screenings per day, and charge $16.08 per ticket. So a movie showing on 1,778 screens over 3 days has a box office potential of $51.4M. A movie making just $7M implies 13.6% of seats were sold. That’s Wednesday level occupancy, not opening weekend.

- Reposted by Derek JohnsonOkay! This has already inspired a bunch of DMs, so I made a page on the website. If you have 50,000+ Skymiles and would be willing to book flights to get someone home, please fill this out.
- Reposted by Derek Johnsona woman reached out to donate 500,000 delta skymiles to get people home to MN as they are released from custody in TX. we're getting flights booked today. it should be enough to get at least 15 people home. delta should be doing for free since they take ICE money.
- We have one political party in America so pissed about losing the Civil War that they’re now relitigating the Revolutionary War and have taken the side of the Monarchists

- I went to the benefit for Renee Good and Alex Pretti at First Avenue yesterday. Having Bruce’s live debut of Streets of Minneapolis with us in Minneapolis meant a lot. So did shout-singing Killing in the Name with Tom Morello and 1,500 of my newest best friends.
- I find it sad that the courts are asking Minnesota to prove just *how much* of a jackboot on your neck is too much or too heavy while we slowly suffocate under the weight of that boot.

- As part of truth and reconciliation after all of this, Panatir needs to dismantled and their databases and algorithms need to be destroyed.
- Trump’s secret police considers you a political enemy if you criticize Trump or DHS/CBP/HSI/ERO/ICE and is building dossiers of you. History has shown, and current events are reinforcing it, these lists always turn into mass incarceration of citizens. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/30/t...

- 5 jobs I’ve had a puppet pirate a poet a pauper a pawn And one royal title and a king
- Here’s the legacy of Kavenaugh Stops. DHS lost 60 of the 61 immigrant detention challenges in MN district court last week per @msnowreports.bsky.social We were right when we said they’re just ripping anyone off the streets.
- According to KARE11 news - lawyers have filed 470+ habeas petitions in Minnesota since 12/15/2025 related to illegal detention by ICE. A nation’s ongoing legitimacy is at stake. If our government is unconstrained by law, then a fundamental contract between the people and the government is broken.
- It’s disheartening to hear all of this conversation around affordability and not a peep about stagnating wages for the bottom 90%

- We are 6 days away from precinct caucuses. Let me repeat: There are no free and fair midterm elections in November if the people of Minnesota are unable to participate in the selection of their candidates in February.
- Those in the Trump administration stunned by how Minnesotans come to aid their neighbors so quickly have never witnessed the shovel brigade the magically appears when a neighbor’s car is stuck on an unplowed road.

- I liked it better when songs about Minneapolis were about places that got bums when it's cold like any other place it's warm up inside
- Art doesn’t care about your rules, Stillwater. Art reflects society. I really think The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce would benefit from a reading of Letter from a Birmingham Jail. The government is murdering people, but this sculpture is offensive? smdh www.twincities.com/2026/01/28/t...
- A lot of white folks in America are learning what it’s like to be stripped of the protection of whiteness. America looks really different through that lens. Let’s make sure we keep this perspective when we begin to rebuild our government when this regime finally ends.
- With apologies to John, Paul, George, and Ringo… It’s was 50 years ago today When Minnesota learned how to play The beautiful game we’ve come to love But not the really stinky goalie glove So may I introduce to you The team you’ve know all these years Minnesota Kicks Professional Soccer Teeeaaaam
- Oftentimes I’m asked by non-Minnesotans how we stand living with our harsh winters in Minnesota. I hope the country has seen over this past month that Minnesotans, while generally reserved by nature, generate a warmth of community. It’s that simple.

- Sold their soul with Brian Cornell, never bothered to try and buy it back since.
- Breaking international law, too. There is no reforming this rot. ICE needs to be abolished.
- Why is ICE allowing Arizona to investigate the shooting there today but continues to lock out Minnesota from fully investigating the murders of Reneé Good and Alex Pretti? More proof that this campaign in MN is about intimidation and retribution. www.cnn.com/2026/01/27/u...
- This reminds me of a cute story. When Jakob’s sister Maria got married to Peter Himmelman, my mom’s boss at the time, Steve, was at the wedding (cousin of groom). Steve’s mom strikes up a conversation with Maria’s dad Bob by saying, “Peter tells me you’re in the music business, too.” 😂
- What does “restrain, reform and restrict ICE” mean for a force that shot a man in the back 4 times and then shot his motionless body 6 more times? Tell, what do the 3 Rs mean to a force that ignores court orders? It’s a fucking killing field and you are going to argue over the size of the bullets?
- Seriously though, WaPo had substantially paid for the expenses up front to send their reporters to the Olympics. This smells like a favor to Dear Leader because of all those meanie foreigners who are gonna say bad things about him for 2 straight weeks.
- Well, I guess Bezos had to make up the $75 million he spent on that Melania movie somehow 🤷♂️ www.nytimes.com/2026/01/24/b...

- Their words mean nothing. Only positive actions count. “Some” is not a reassuring word. I’d prefer “all” the ICE agents gone, but that’s not the political environment we are in. 40% of America still has no problem with what’s happening in Minnesota.
- Is Tom Homan aware we don’t have Cava in Minnesota?
- Shocking, SHOCKING, that it turns out the GOP was projecting its worst fears about themselves onto Democrats
