- The VA is an important training ground for many early career scientists. The research supported by the VA has led to important health improvements for veterans and their families. My first job out of college was at the VASRD in Menlo Park/Palo Alto and was pivotal in getting me to where I am today.

- It's hard to describe just how chaotic things are right now for those doing funded research. Everyday brings something new, and not in the fun way. All I can do is push out findings and research events to show that important work is still happening and NEEDS to happen. Science matters!
