- One thing I love about football is the consistency in what is judged to be a handball.
- Feel like the season hangs in the balance in these next 45. Have to get these three points with a brutal schedule ahead. Not sure where we find two goals (or how we tighten up the back) but we have to. Howay.
- Oh come on. His arm is down. What do you want him to do there?
- Oh Wissa so close
- BOTMAN GET INNNNN
- More simulation than a penalty there
- BDB 4EVA
- Come on Newcastle. Get into these.
- You beauty
- Old malls never die, they just fade away.
- I remember listening to a game in 2003 or so, and Sonny was livid that Washington couldn't protect Patrick Ramsey. "HE'S GOING TO DIE! HE'S GOING TO DIE OUT THERE ON THAT FIELD," he screamed (or something to that effect). Hilarious. I still quote that, 23 years later.

- KASTY GET IN
- So happy to see him back tonight. Looked terrible when it happened.
- I played bar trivia last night. We won and one of my teammates took a photo of the totals. I asked him to send it to me but he took down my number wrong and sent it to some random person. This was the resulting conversation. Incredible.
- Korpi keeping us in this. Panthers swarming.
- Tkachuk slashed Zadorov before the intermission. Zadorov called for the penalty, starts in the box and Florida scores on the PP. Great league you got here.
- Nothing more absurd than studio commentators chuckling over Matt Tkachuk’s multiple uncalled penalties every game. Cross-check to the back (under the pad) after a goal? What a gritty competitor!
- The only way to deal with the Florida Panthers is to punch them in their smirking faces as many times as necessary.
- TANNER JEANNOT GET SOME
- McAvoy just got elbowed in the head. Should be a game misconduct, suspension and a hefty fine.
- Reposted by Brian Colliganit's probably fine
- Shout out to the away support, which is in fine voice tonight. Still coming through loud and clear on the broadcast.
- Really nice creativity from Elanga to net that. First Newcastle goal at City in ages.

- Looks like that's it for the cup defense. Newcastle winning last year will still be one of the best days I've known, but they just don't have enough this season against the big clubs.
- Texted a friend, who's a City fan, that we'd probably concede in the first 5 and that would be that. I was wrong. It took us 6 minutes.

- Reposted by Brian ColliganSeems as though they have laid off their entire photography staff. Photojournalists don’t just take photos, we report, we pitch, we take photos while our lives and safety are under threat. We explore our neighborhoods, restaurants and sports with a creative eye. Photojournalists do it all.

- Reposted by Brian ColliganI don't buy the idea that Bezos is intentionally killing the Post. If he wanted to do that he could have just bought it and shut it down. Plenty of rich people have done that. The problem is he hired a Murdoch tabloid team to manage it and it's not a Murdoch tabloid and you can't run it like one.
- Reposted by Brian ColliganNEWS: The cuts were so severe that at least one department head asked to leave The Post rather than be included in the planning. Peter Finn, The Post's international editor, requested that he be laid off once he learned about the scope of the cuts to his section. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/04/b...

- Reposted by Brian ColliganI was among the layoffs at The Washington Post today. It has been an absolute dream to be a small part of this incredible team. Covering the Caps has been an honor; being a beat writer is an all-consuming thing that I love deeply. I hope I’ll get to continue that in whatever is next
- Reposted by Brian ColliganCrestfallen and f$&@ furious about the closure as we know it of @postsports.bsky.social by an indifferent, compromised owner and a failing publisher — a dept of Povich and Boswell, Wilbon and Kornheiser, Gildea and Sheinin, of poets, authors, Hall of Famers and Pulitzer finalists. A terrible day.
- Reposted by Brian ColliganThe mass layoffs at the Washington Post feel worse than the ones made during 2020, especially after the ones at NBC News, CBS, and the WSJ. So many smart and experienced people will leave the industry forever.
