I think that most of the mass signifiers that pass for Trans Culture are tacky and annoying.
there's this "you're basically my sister since i'm trans too colon three" attitude that makes me uncomfortable being openly queer at this point.

it feels exactly the same as mentioning my russian nationality in a public chatroom: there's a good chance someone will start typing in CAPS cyrillic in excitement. except that i'm not lumped into a stereotype by russians, i'm just assumed to be a close friend immediately.
