I agree as far as that goes, but organizationally someone has to be in charge of that FBI team -- is it her? If not who? Maybe her role is just to be visibily 'around' and this should really be understood as a DOJ (or DHS?) project
Feb 5, 2026 00:38From what I’ve read, the things Gabbard has done is be visibly around, and facilitate a phone call between the president and some FBI officers on site. I haven’t seen reports of IC personnel involved besides the DNI herself, it’s domestic law enforcement. Though that could be incomplete info.
Reuters "A team working for spy chief, Tulsi Gabbard, last spring led an investigation into Puerto Rico's voting machines..." suggests there's something more (working for, led) but very very vague beyond that
Her role could be similar to Homan's in Minneapolis. He's not in the chain of command either. A sort of presidential envoy/special assignment.
