- An interesting anatomical quirk of nanotyrannus I haven't seen get talked about is that all the lethaeus and lancencis specimens that preserve the premaxilla have a tooth line that would have caused the less- recurved "incisiform" teeth to project slightly forward, even slightly past the premaxilla.

- Reposted by DaspletoraptorHere's a T. Rex bored to death trying to bite their own tail. My partner asked me to animate it in stop motion, after she watched a video about the very important topic of "could T. Rex chew its own tail like a dog". The puppet is still a work in progress 🦖

- Reposted by DaspletoraptorFirst #FossilFriday of 2026: here's #paleoart of Dromaeosaurus atop a half-eaten juvenile Chasmosaurus. Dromaeosaurus was no Velociraptor clone, but a relatively robust and probably hard-biting raptorial dinosaur. Painted... two years ago now, I guess, in 2024. #fossil #paleontology #dinosaur

- Reposted by DaspletoraptorAn adult Ceratosaurus nasicornis caught juvenile Torvosaurus tanneri. These theropods, like an Allosaurus, were found in the famous Morrison Formation, but their remains are much less common. Despite some differences in food sources, they competed and killed each other from time to time. #paleoart
- Reposted by DaspletoraptorChindesaurus bryansmalli, a basal predatory dinosaur from the Late Triassic of Arizona. Its holotype, a partial postcranial skeleton, was nicknamed "Gertie". Chindesaurus was classified as herrerasaurid, but recent analyzes recovered it as Tawa hallae relative. #paleoart
