most 'mansplaining' in my experience isn't that the dude is necessarily condescending -- they're excitedly sharing their enthusiasm, & talk to one another this way. but. also they are failing to perceive their conversational partner AT ALL. it's mild, childish narcissism. in the best case.
even when men have learned this is a bad thing, there’s more work to do in unlearning some of the bad habits it brings such as talking over people and interrupting.
i still interrupt (an awful habit) and feel immediately embarrassed about it.
my recommendation to men is to give back control to the person you took it from (“sorry i interrupted you, please finish your thought”) as you work at kicking the habit.
recognizing the issue goes a long way
