- Reposted by Celine BenckerExciting news: the TIDE study, my study about premenstrual exacerbation (PME) of depression, has started! In the coming year, we aim to include 60 participants with depression and a regular menstrual cycle to examine the prevalence and trajectories of PME in depression. 📈👩🏼🏫
- How are #stress and premenstrual symptoms connected? And are those with a #trauma history more likely to have #PMS or #PMDD? 🌩️ Our systematic review & three meta-analyses combine evidence from 66 studies to explore these questions. Excited our work is finally out! ✨ 👉 doi.org/10.1192/bjp....
- What did we find? 🔍 Our review points to a relevant association between stress and premenstrual symptomatology: 🔺Higher stress is linked to more severe symptoms ⤴️ Stress peaks during the luteal phase in individuals with PMS/PMDD ⚡ Trauma history associated with more than double the odds of PMS/PMDD
