- Nothing quite like a blanket email from HR to chase away the January blues. @sheffielducu.bsky.social members took lawful strike action in Nov/Dec. we were docked pay. Now the Uni says refusal to reschedule cancelled classes results in breach of contract and 💯 pay deductions. 😡 Punished twice.
- Well that’s me locked out. No pay for the foreseeable future, all because I refuse to reschedule lost teaching, for which I have already lost pay as part of the strike. Please donate to support @sheffielducu.bsky.social members like me at www.gofundme.com/f/heubvb-sup...
- 🔊 I've been quiet about this, but can't hold it in any longer ... 🍾 Beyond happy to say that my first book "Diaspora Governance in Practice" - which will be published with @brisunipress.bsky.social next year - now officially has a cover!!!
- The fabulous @oulakadhum.bsky.social and I are planning on putting together a panel on diaspora politics and decolonization for @mybisa.bsky.social annual conference, if anyone is interested in joining?! More info below, please get in touch via c.r.craven@sheffield.ac.uk

- I'm in Helsinki this week and super excited to give a one day workshop tomorrow on "Accounting for colonialisms in migration and borders research: from theory to practice". From the submitted papers, it looks like we have an amazing group of students doing fascinating work.
