- Just finished @ravineangel.bsky.social’s Persona. An extremely rough read that I’m glad I stuck with because once it gets its hooks in you there is this amazing tenderness to it you wouldn’t believe. Challenging, but an immensely worthy reminder that in spite of everything, we have to keep living.

- The funniest thing I read in the separatist documents today is that an independent Alberta's aspirational military will include a navy. Looking forward to battleships on the Athabaska. And does West Edmonton Mall still have that submarine?

- In 1999, when Amazon began to implement algorithm recommendations instead of ones written by humans, the team in charge hung a sign on the wall: "PEOPLE FORGET THAT JOHN HENRY DIED IN THE END". Imagine how rich those people are now, and what decisions they get to make about us.

- The Books section of WaPo was legit good. I loved reading Ron Charles' weekly newsletter. I always get something from Becca Rothfeld's reviews. Wrote one review for them in Fall '24 and it was a tight-ship pro experience that paid well (things MSM oft does not deliver!) Sucks all around.
- Among other things, PERSONA is the most Pacific Northwest book I've read in years and Vancouver if you don't go to this you will regret it forever
